I have just read that all new cars have to be fitted with tyre pressure sensors to monitor what's happening to your tyres i.e.the heat being generated and, obviously, the air pressure. What is this world coming to? Another EU piece of mindless legislation to justify the employment of unelected officials? Who knows.... but what I do know is that we've managed to live without this technology for over 100 years of the car and I doubt that such items will have ANY effect on car collisions etc.
More money to the manufacturers and something else to go wrong and cost a fortune to repair/replace!
Rant over......
Leigh (Area rep) (driving a Datsun without ABS, ECU, automatic headlights on, automatic wipers on,auto-parking, intelligent headlights, sensor this, sensor that... yadda yadda yadda....)

They should just make sure people know how to inflate tyres , make it part of the test, and changing a bulb and a wiper blade etc
