Exact year of rear fog light made compulsory in UK (Read 693 times)

May I know since when (exact year of implementation) rear fog light become mandatory by law in UK ?

April 1980 seems to ring a bell? Certainly my 1979 120Y didn't require one.

Just found this...

Taken from Lowe's Transport Manager's and Operator's handbook 2013.... "Regulations require rear fog lights to be fitted to new vehicles manufactured since 1st October 1979 and first used since 1st April 1980..."
