Hello,
There is a nice Cherry FII 100A 1976 for sale here in Holland. It is a semiautomatic transmission. Does anybody know if this is a reliable construction and is it a good combination with a 1000cc engine? Thanks!

I have only ever seen that transmission on the A12 engine, I did not know they put them on A10. They are strange, there are switches in the gear knob. I think the transmission has a torque converter and a clutch.

I owned one of these F10s and I believe Will is correct as regarding the A12 only UK engine size option. I quite enjoyed the car - it was relaxed drive and but I felt it needed more power. F10's never had A14 engines here, so I guess I'll never know how effective that combo is. I'd imagine the A10 would be hard work but I felt the gearbox was quite robust and shouldn't give too many problems. The novelty (and rarity) of the gearbox might wear a little thin on such a low powered engine though and I suspect the fuel consumption would be worse than a manual.

Sorry, the 100A wasn't a semi automatic but a normal manual transmission...
