Last week I took my 160J Violet out of enforced lockdown and got it MOT'd and serviced despite it having another 6 months added to the MOT on the gov.uk website. I thought about leaving it,especially as it now no longer requires an MOT, but decided to continue with it's long documented care since being mine. Satisfyingly, it passed with flying colours and just a mention on the service sheet of slightly corroded discs from standing unused for too long. Oh yes, within about 10 minutes of taking it out of my Mum's garage some bird promptly dumped on the roof!

A Violet is such a great looking car. I've been using my Cherry a fair bit over the last couple of years. It is so easy to drive and frugal. But I sometimes forget I'm in an old car and notice someone looking at me. Maybe pointing and smiling, and I think "Do I know you?" and then realise it is the car they are looking at. It is good to know that there are still a few of these old treasures being cared for and preserved.
