There's a 1978 Datsun 120y 4-door saloon for sale with starting bid £2,500.
We all know that you have to view this model due to its propensity to rust in the scuttle and trumpets in particular. In this case the owner has not covered up the registration number (thank you) and thus its MOT history is viewable. Low mileage and with a good MOT history, its last MOT expired in December 2017 and although the owner says he/she has had it for 5 years and it runs fine they make the point that it doesn't require an MOT (or tax). They add in the text "restoration project" but no further details.
I am of the opinion that they should have no worries in putting it through an MOT and, even if it fails, it would show prospective buyers some degree of what they are buying. Would you sell your exempt classic without an MOT?
What do you think?

I suppose the MOT will make the sale go through a lot easier, if you're planning to sell.
