My B110 is running hot, when driven at 50 plus. OK around town and tick over. I've been through the cooling system, flushing, stat, etc. Set timing engine and ignition. I fitted a replacement carb a while back and I think the problem stemmed from there. I've been told it could be running lean and that would cause the heat. The plugs look a bit white-ish. There's an anti-tamper cap on the air flow screw. It has a very thin slot in it that spins in a captive shroud. Do I remove this, and how? Or is there a special tool to adjust the mixture with it on? I've looked on amazon for a tool but none seem thin enough or flat enough to pass through the slot in the anti-tamper.

There's a "special" tool that fits the slot. It's basically a thin screwdriver with a flat end that has a V-shape cut into it. You can make one yourself or buy one from Ebay, which is where I got mine from.

Aside of the mixture, it could be that the radiator is silted up. This happens over the years and sometimes no amount of flushing will open up the waterways again. Maybe time for a new/recored radiator. Have a peek inside the filler neck with a torch.
