Having just read my Classic Car Weekly I note that in September there were 350 cars sold at auction. In common with previous sale figures there was not ONE Japanese car amongst them (Datsun/Nissan, Honda, Mazda, Toyota, Mitsubishi and Suzuki - to name a few).
I just wonder WHY
I have my own thoughts but wonder what you might think.

Leigh (Area rep) Its easy- the owners of the Japanese cars are so happy with them that they don't want to sell them..hence such cars never turn up at auctions !

classic car weekly have an auction? No, Al, they report the auctions taking place around the country
One thought is that Datsun/Nissan owners don't have to use auctions because there is always a ready market using advertising through (this) website or fleabay etc. and as such, the price we ask is usually the price we get (or thereabouts).
Again, I think this shows that Datsuns are yet to be discovered, for what they are, by the general classic car scene.

so the 350 cars sold.... thats not a lot. so unsurprizing that no japanese cars were sold really, i bet hardly any or maybe no Russian cars were sold either? we're much more uncommon, unique and specialist then the vast majority of classic car owners
