well i've got as far as lowering it..... after seeing unclesilvia's suspension build and that he used a set of coilovers off of ebay and they're very cheap, i thought i'd give em a go. so got these ment for a honda civic i think, bout £50 delivered. they're an alloy threaded sleeve and 2.5" internal diameter springs. dunno what the spring rate is (doesn't say on the springs or box) but they are very stiff, i'd guess around the 400lb mark..... far too stiff for the rear so i'm using 200lb in the rear instead. work ok for what they are. i've just got them sat on top of the stock lower spring platform so no welding or cutting needed. plus i could re fit the stock springs if i ever wanted to. only problem is the top cups that came with the springs are only rubber, rather then alloy so they need supporting or they'd just break up. i'll sort some pics out at some point

well i've been messing around with the coilover set i bought. i've not used the springs that came in the kit as they were stupid stiff (tech term ) and instead i've fitted 2 1/4" internal dia, 8" long, 250lb springs in the front which is much softer then what came in the kit... also means i could use a normal 2 1/4" alloy top mount. i just had to run the lower spring perch upside down. in the rear i've fitted 2 1/2" internal dia, 9" long, 225lb springs and used the rubber top mounts supplied in the kit as they sit up against the stock upper spring mount, so they are supported and won't just bend and break. anyways. all this means i my car is now a fair bit stiffer then stock, and more importantly, i've got it sat a lot lower. still need to paint in the lower sides of the car and have priced that up so will get on and do it when i get the chance..... pics. as i've washed it...

That looks absolutely awesome. I have one of these myself, locked away in a garage. Still not brought myself to part with it yet, might put it on here for sale tho as I know someone will look after it. I'm quite attached to the little car and would hate it to meet a nasty end. You got a good eye for styling, big thumbs up.
