the obvious answer is, if you have to ask then the answer is no....
but to answer it properly..
the bluey engine, is that the FWD CA18ET?
and you want to fit it to a stock RWD B310?
firstly, i think the FWD CA18ET has the dissy in the wrong place and would have clearance issues in RWD application. then you'd need to use a RWD S12/S13 gearbox and modify the car to fit it. including custom propshaft (an auto B310 prop may fit) custom gearbox crossmember, custom engine mounts and full engine rewire. also swap fuel system to work with the EFI.
plus a few other bits that go with an engine conversion of this sort. like axle and brake upgrade.
in short. it's possible, thou not easy.

sorry, shoulda said.. its the first of the fwd sunnys.. the chap said it will be an easy swap...but i thought id double check, as i havent seen a bluebird to compare.
apparently it will drop in with the standard box and axle..does this sound right?

ah. then ignore all that ;D
what engine does your car have already?
if it's not a CA engined car (i don't think they did a CA B11?) then your going to need to swap in the gearbox as the engine-gearbox bolt pattern won't be the same.
and if you do need to swap in the gearbox then you'll most likely need to swap the driveshafts too. and they *might* not fit...
maybe using bits from a CA engined N13?
either way. as it was never a factory fitted engine, it won't be that straight forward.
is there anything wrong with your current engine?

just looked it up. and they did a CD17 diesel engined B11.
now the CA petrol engine should bolt up to that gearbox. as the bellhousing bolt pattern should be the same.
dunno how the ratios would work out, but would have thought the box would be pretty strong...

Tricky to find a CD17-powered B11 however!

i see i see, i presumed/hoped they would be round about the same due to the age. nothings really wrong with the current engine, its just a lil 1.5..lacks oomph ;D hmm, that would make life easier if i found a diesel b11..but i cant see that happening. Not sure what would be easier..tracking down an intact cherry turbo..or a diesel b11

so you have an E15 powered car? can't say i know anything about them and wether anything else fits..
like you say an E15T cherry turbo engine should fit, but you'd still need to convert to fuel injection and rewire it. there was a cherry turbo engined sunny on ebay recently wasn't there?
or wasn't there a 1.6 version of that engine? dunno if it'd be much of an improvement and you'd be moving into higher road tax band with that one...
whatever you decide it's gona be a fair bit of work.

The front lower chassis of the B11 and N12 is the same as an M10 Prairie. If you can fine an M10 breaking you could probably source enough bits to make a CA18 fit. M10's came with both CA and E series engines but I believe the mount bracket on the cassis is different. It would probably involve chopping the mounting brackets out of an M10 and welding them into the B11 but it could be done.
E16 is junk IMO. Feels torquey low down but had no go at all. Itr is possible to bit a GA series engine into a B11. I don't know the details though.

cheers for the info guys.. yes alramone there was..kicked my self i missed it, as it went cheap ! I think they easiest option will be the cherry motor.. guess im gunna have to sit back and wait and hopefully one will appear somewhere. looked at buying a cherry turbo, which would make life easy..but my insurance pissed on my fire..£5800 was the cheapest - joys of being 18
