Yes, camber tops-plates work well. S13 fitment ones work with std 280zx inserts and also golf gti inserts if you decide to go mega low and reduce the strut casing lenght.

I did this conversion with the same camber tops on my B110, had to ream the top 3 strut mounting holes slightly as originally smaller. bolted up ;D

The 160 would be a much better ride I believe. From factory they are less than 100lb if o recall and A series is a very light engine

yup. stock spring rate would be around 80lbs so with the standard engine (weight) anything from 120-180 lbs depending on how you like it.
FWIW i've just gone up from 250 to 300lb springs to the front of my Laurel ;D

I suppose being on 3.5inch blocks on the leafs with spax adjustable shocks doesnt assist the bounce factor

great thanks, im thinking 160lb 10 inch as i only want an inch or 2 lowering. If i ever get round to it, just need springs and later datsun steering arms then im ready to go...

comparison of a standard B210 120Y front leg and a standard S130 280ZX front leg with a coilover conversion. you can see that the 280ZX leg is around 50mm shorter Any idea how much the 280ZX strut is shorter than B310 struts? about the same as above?? I have some 280ZX struts and brakes on their way for my b310 and i hoping to fit them using the Honda civic coilover spring kit and minimal fuss but still sitting it fairly low. Do you think ill get enough travel without going down the mk1 or 2 golf inserts and cutting strut route?? Also am i going to need a Bump Steer Spacer to fit all this together? Where would i get such a thing if I need one?

Factory inserts will bottom out on a proper stanced b310!

I think im going to mock everything up once I have got it all home. I can then roughly see how it will all sit, then I can decide if it needs chopping about!
Is it just the 280ZX struts are far to long? Just trying to get my head around this minefield and i have a tight deadline of the begining of May to get it roadworthy!! :/

No they are shorter than most stock Datsun units but if you want to stance it then it's time to section the strut. However if you simply want to lower it and have reasonable tyre< > arch gap then stock 280zx will be fine

Well this was standard height....... This is on cut springs with 2 coils off......... I want to go maybe 2" lower up front and 1" rear. im guessing thats gonna require some chopping! (guessing just looking at the pics and not measuring actual clearence but you get the idea!)
