i know this howmanyleft web site is surposed to be a bit rubbish and not very accurate, but... i've been having a bit of a search on there, seams the UK Datsuns took a big hit in the mid to late 90's and that when a lot came off the road. i guess rust and the fact they were cheap old cars then ment that not many people were spending the money looking after them. found out you can do a combined search on all models www.howmanyleft.co.uk/combined/datsun_according to that, there are only 643 licensed and 750 on sorn. plus how ever many have been in storage since before the sorn came in.

Thats probably because people were importing them from USA to top up the numbers.

If you look at "Car & Classic", "eBay"," Classic car weekly" etc. you'll always find loads of 240/260Zs for sale and very few of the models on this site. Thus deducing that the Zeds are more common/popular and my car isn't!
However, we shall have our day, brothers!!!! The rise of the humble Datsun is coming!!! The rarer they get, the more desirable and expensive they get.
There are members here who have a veritable hoard of Datsuns coming into their own. If I had space I would collect several/many/loads and store them for an auction-fest when I die and leave it all to my family (who think I'm mad, by the way!)
