This is an unfinished poject. the engine and box was in the car, but it was'nt lined-up properly and did'nt have a gearbox x-member.
I have line the engine up and have made a gearbox x-member and had prop shortened fitted uprated poly engine and gearbox mounts light weight flywheel and new standard turbo clutch. jobs still to do are:- wiring needs doing( was removed and unravelled) brake pipes fuel pipes exhaust middle section needs making paint needs re -doing some parts need sourcing .

Not much progress due to work commitments Brake and fuel pipes are done, exhaust made good Sorted most of the wiring and engine is now running.
Next jobs are clutch pipe and instrument wiring Car is on axle stands and with engine running in 5th gear at tick over speedo is reading 80 kph ,( electric speedo) do I need a resistor or something to low it or is it broke. Thinking about getting a race tech MPH speedo .

Ah I wondered what was happening with this truck! I know Dan a bit and often chatted to him about what he was doing with it.... Then it went a bit quiet lol. I'm glad its still alive and will be interested to see where this project ends up

Sorry for the lack of news on my progress. Got it MOTed about three months ago ,but then had to get some more paperwork from HMRC and then managed to get it registered. I have been using it ax much as I can and go to work in it most days,i get a lot of people asking about it. the engine suffered from the common problem of a noisy vvt sprocket ,but I managed to fined a secondhand one in good working order. Had trouble starting it when cold and tracked it down to a broken throttle position sensor and needing a signal wire from the ignition switch. I got an unrated anti-rollbar and Polly bushes from MAddat in Australia .i have fitted the roll bar but will fit the bushes during the Christmas holidays. Will try to get the underside painted at the same time ,can anyone recommend a good paint I can use?
I am looking for a tubular manifold and will get a better exhaust made for it a soon as I can. Also trying to track down numerous rattles and vibrations that are annoying me.

great to hear it's up and running.
as for what paint on the underside. well that comes down to what you want from it. 2pack gloss would be great for a show car. thick underseal for a rough n ready daily. something inbetween could be a hard wearing and tough but shinny Chassis black paint from tetrosyl maybe? thats normally what i go for.

Thanks al ramone I will try some tetrosyl, can it be sprayed on? I have removed the rear axle and clean it with twist knot wheel, and then used some rust kill sprayed it with etch primer and then some black stone chip paint. The diff had a bit of play in it so I opened up to have a look and discovered it as a LSD (bonus) think it needs shimming to take the play out of it? Going to start on the underside of the car today,

wow. bet that diffs worth a few quid. its a H165 axle in these trucks isn't it? so prob ment for a Violet rally car.
that tetrosyl chassis black can be thinned down with normal white sprite and then sprayed. i mix it up and poor it into containers and spray with a shutz gun.
