In my view, I would have to consider that it requires repairs and paint to (all of) the doors and the bent wing sorting. That could cost a few hundred pounds. A rare car, which the seller considers it is, does not necessarily mean a desireable car and thus, with few buyers, it is only worth what someone wants to pay. There was recently a hatchback version up for sale in London (more desireable?)in better condition and, if I recall correctly, went for around £500-00. So, to sum up, I don't think I would pay that for it. Not sure this helps.

Well I paid £900 for mine in 2009 plus £500 to collect, drive and ferry it home from south Wales to Belfast. It hasn't required any bodywork. All I have done to it myself in 5 years is waxoyl underneath, replace cambelt, water pump, all filters, all oils / annually, battery, 1 tyre, plugs and leads and alloys refurbished. If that gives you anything to go on. Here's a link to mine datsunclubuk.proboards.com/thread/956/82-stanza-t11

Ok so i bought it! Didnt pay 575 though. Having a closer look its pretty rusty and needs a few things done but it drives really well, to be expected with a datsun with 40k on it. The drivers door may be beyond repair i think, the skins have seperated. Doesnt warm up unless in traffic and the idle is really high. It has a certificate saying it was Zeibarted when new, but hasnt held up well, have uncovered a few holes, didnt help spending most of its life next to the sea. Dont know how it will hold up over the winter

Well the revving on is easy enough to fix, its the choke staying on. Mine does it occasionally, if its been left without running for a while. Its not that it is hard to warm up. If you look at the end of the throttle cable at the carb. There is a metal plunger which plunges in and out pushing the throttle cable/lever on to keep the engine running when cold. This plunger seizes slightly and will need to be lubricated including lubricating behind the rubber boot which protects it from damp etc. Sometimes when driving if it sticks on you can quickly blimp the throttle to knock the plunger quickly back in. Mine has only started doing this 1 year ago.
