I have just replaced the rear wheel cylinders on the 82 stanza t11. Due to one cylinder starting to leak fluid and on removal of the other one I found that one piston was seized. To my susprise they were both the original nissan cylinders and also the brake pipes (original too and well greased) came off like a dream. I have every invoice from new and there is no sign of the cylinders been replaced before. So there you go 32 years old and 49000 miles, i guess the warranty wouldn't have covered them !! Unfortunately I wasn't able to get my hands on genuine replacements this time. So I don't think the new ones will last 32 years. Attachments:

I'd be well pleased if the same happens when I get around to my weeping cylinder on my 160J. Yours is probably testament to the amount of care that your car has had over the years, as well as the well-known, tried and tested Japanese quality. Sadly, but in the past, I have had the bleed nipple shear off and that can be a right pig of a job that should only take about a half hour. Have you posted pics of your car?
PS. You don't fancy another T11 Stanza, do you?

Thanks for that. I think one stanza and two minors were enough for me at the moment one bleed nipple sheared on me to, but wasn't worried as new cylinders going on anyway. I have every mot certificate and garage invoice to prove the 49000 miles. I bought the car in Cardiff in 2009 after seeing it on autotrader website for sale and drove it home to Belfast 270 miles trouble free. Since then I have serviced it every year, changed timing belt, tensioner, water pump, coolant, fuel filter, spark plugs and leads. And this year new battery and wheel cylinders. All I need to get now is a rear exhaust box ( which is proving difficult / dear postage), but there's no hurry yet. Here's a previous link of it. datsunclubuk.proboards.com/thread/956/82-stanza-t11
