that channeled 521 looks pretty cool. your lucky that you've got enough over there that you can get away with that without too many purists getting upset

but if a new guy comes on the old interwebs with a first post of i always wanted a Datsun and how do i fit a SR20det in it.. You can believe they get pretty railed on by even the "artists" of the group. You guys are kinda more quality over quantity we are more ,, lets get that Fatty on the road. We also only have emissions testing for brand new cars,, but have absolutely no vehicle inspections at all for any car over 20 years old. Which makes a work in progress a completely legal type deal. My buddys son had a Toyota a few years ago that was so rusted out he used sheet metal held in but probably 4 sheet metal screws keeping it from falling out the bottom. You can even run without a windshield but you have to have wipers ,, but they don't have to be hooked to a motor. That trucks floor pans are at door jamb level but the dude who drives it is like 6 foot 3 inches tall. They sit on thin seats bolted straight to the floor. Believe it or not that is his daily driver, his only other car is a 60s chevy impala.

Well since i haven't been banned for posting to many pictures,,,,, so far.
We met up with a few local South Sounders to caravan up with in a Wallmart parking lot. The trucks we were waiting for had to all gas up so when they showed up we left. Saw this at the light before we got on freeway,,, of doom. I don't take many of individual cars much, i'm more of an overall mood of the event,,, picture type photographer. But here's what i got. Then went to a meet-up about 45 minutes away in Tacoma Washington in a parking lot of a fast food place.. PumpkinDave was hopping his air bags in the 210 If you go back to the last meet i posted you will see this below is the stripped out car on the trailer in those posts. Here's some local type music to listen to while picture browsing.. if Al Green and Lynyrd Skynyrd had made a grunge album together it would probably sound like this. .

This 620 is a beautiful thing in person ,, inside and out.Toyota cressida on 13"s that was there As marijuana was legalized by vote in the state of Washington last year,, there is many shops like the one seen across street. kinda weird. It was cold (snow was forecast) and it started raining pretty hard so the remaining South Puget Sounders headed out towards home and got a bite to eat a joint called Lefty's as Carls jr where the meet took place is terrible fast food ,, (FUN FACT) Carl's jr restaurant chain,, in a cost cutting move,, was going to eliminate the middleman and spray their food directly into the toilet.. Anyways Lefty's it is located in the parking lot of an abandoned strip mall and we stood around eating and making angry statements about the government for awhile ,, was a good time as usual. That's all i got.

The orange one? it is middle seventies Toyota Hi-lux. I believe he has 20r/22r swap as the original engines in those are pretty anemic. Fits right in to the mix though, as we are all there to enjoy the drive in these old things.

After most baled a few of us went on a windy road country cruise . Roads are very curvy as these were originally logging roads so they pretty much follow the curvature of the landscape. We drove around for a couple of hours and circled back for a roadside attraction photoshoot. Alex,(A10 that was broke) Derek (blue 71) , My son Donovan are all as young as they look ,, which is a good thing for the hobby/sport. Oh,,, and Ted. . Till next time,,same bat time, same bat channel

So good to see you guys out and about enjoying the cars being driven. I notice that quite a few of you do not have front license/registration plates. Noticable in some of your movies, as well. Why is that?

Leigh (Area rep) In this state we have a option for car/trucks older than 26 years in where you pay a one time fee of $70. and you don't have to pay license fees. There are stipulations that vehicle isn't to be used to drive back and forth to work (as your sole source of transport) or for trucks haul things,, and mileage driven a year is supposed to be limited to maybe under 4000 miles (IDK).. Most are kinda scoff laws, that uncle salty doesn't ever enforce,, as i haul garbage ( on very nice summery days) in my 55 Ford pick-up and State patrol officers don't seem to care. When you change to these they only issue you one. Both my sons cars have normal plates on them ,, even though they qualify by age as they drive them to school every day. Collector vehicle plates are permanently assigned but "normal" plates are changed every 5 years at a cost of $45. . I have all the plates written down in case of something as remembering impossible.. It would be like all your friends changing their numbers every few years. License fees are $30. but by the time you add tonnage fees and such you end up paying about $120. per year, per vehicle. Normal plates have tags to tell police what year and month when tags expire,, and if expired it is automatic $180. fine. Our plates tell the police everything about owner and color and make of vehicle, so switching tags / or felons can be detected ,, if you switch tags that will get your car impounded and huge fines to get it back. My dented up booty 510 collector plate If you have original to car plates, you can run those on the same exemption but you have to have both of the plates. If you notice Jasons blue-411sss wagon in pictures above he has collector plates on rear,,, but he is running a Florida plate on front.Your program for 40 year old cars sounds alot like this but that's a guess. datsunclubuk.proboards.com/thread/2546/budget-2014-rolling-exemption-year
