i'd imagine the wiring is all there already for the rev counter. have you got the wiring harness for the gauges? the datsun ones i've seen, pick up a pulse on the live wire going to the coil.

I spoke with Will and he advised That i have to change the wiring loom for the late 810 for all the warning lights to work, but where does the rev counter wire go to I mean which part of the coil

Did a quick wiring test before attempting the work for tomorrow. The rev counter needed calibrating which made the needle reset to 0

Thanks, I did with a permanent black marker but still no joy. I'm gutted about it but I'm on the look out for one which will be very difficult as there so rare. If I can't find one then i will have to strip it and satin black it. I'm just glad it's all over with. I've run the wire for the oil pressure gusted already to the engine so as soon as I get it it will be a 2 min job.

Flipin hell plans have changed again. So much for what I first wanted this car for. Well some of you might know that on RR there was a silvia 1.8t going cheap. A few calls around with some of you made up my mind to throw the silvia lump Into my 810. I drove the silvia back and my god did she put a smile on my face. Engine runs amazing and boosts really well. So work began She really is to good to break but needs must.

S12 looks nice. can you not find a rusty one? engine swap sounds good, but i don't think you'd need the whole S12, i'd be tempted to have the car back off you... let me know condition/rust. hasn't Will got a complete engine for one of these?

I'm still waiting on pictures of the rust on that one lol.
As you know the wagon came with one of them lumps, but auto (only thing that put me off) i've shoehorned it into another project now. Most of the wiring diagrams are on "will's tech tips" pages. I've got a simplified version, because the full nissan one confused the hell out of me. Use a relay for fuel pump rather than running it through the ecu as they tend to blow.

Al- to get the s12 through mot t will need a little weld at rear arch, rear wheel bearing and that's It. It was first owned by old gentlemen and then left standing for 6 years in a garage. It was then purchased by the last owner who was a Rac technician. He av the car a full service changed all the belts and gaskets to stop oil leaks. He also changed brakes. It has 79,000. I will put up some more photos but It wouldn't be t usual whole day polishing ones lol. I still can't believe I took an engine out yesterday. I will say one thing the s12 flys. The guy called it jap crap he was more into the Ford seen. We had a banter he showed me his ford Orion pushing 220bhp I showed him a video of my jap crap scooby the conversation ended. Lol nice guy though
Damien what did yo use for the fuel tank and the fuel pump.
