Excellent work here guys. The car is quite bad in some places but i guess that's representative of cars of this vintage? Many a ford/ vauxall of same age have died of rust before someone chimes in and claims that Japanese cars rust more... At least once done you can rest assured that it's all metal ...

That's Very true. The car will be rot free and solid so later on it will just be a strip down and spray shop. Ive just completed the seem sealer on the rear and hoping to stone chip the boot floor then primer and get the back together. she now sitting on all four wheels which lookes weird as we are so use to seeing her on axle stands.

every time work is done the thread is updated that evening and thankyou for that. it means we all get to feel part of it and watch it evolve. i know a lot of guys have on going projects that they are keeping secret and want to bring them out once they're finished, but to me, i think the build is just as important as the finished project and gives the car more... life? knowing what is was like and seeing the highs and the lows. just makes it a bit more special. cheers

I like sharing the work thats being done. It also gives others ideas to use on their cars and sometimes a good discussion and friendly banter. I post up information and photos of things that i would like to see on the forum. I hope its not boring stuff but i supoose its a bonding session with us all and to get to no each other and ideas. My other thread YPK was like a good social network with us all of the highs and lows. Anyways thanks ALL for the positive comments it makes it all worth while. As they say THE THREAD MUST GO ON

As they say THE THREAD MUST GO ON You just like the attention Actually I will stick my head out and state that your previous build thread on YPK and now this 810 SSS are responsible for majority of the forum traffic; there isnt much more activity passing through this forum on a regular basis is there ? Your threads are inspirational, motivating and major Mojo boosters...For this reason alone I would want to vote you as MEMBER OF THE YEAR ! What do other peeps think ?

What do other peeps think ? ohh, what will they win? pretty good idea to have a few nominations for different things, i'm sure the old DOC did things like that.

In fact I actually log onto the forum to see the progress on Ricky's cars as he tends to keep the threads updated. It is interesting reading and viewing the photos and watch the project evolve. If there was an award of MEMBER OF THE YEAR etc or best threads and restoration etc, my vote will sway towards Ricky. The last time I saw something as interesting was by Datsunbat from Portugal me thinks?

Thank you thank you we really are bonding well. I reckon the winner should get a £200 worth of free parts from mr Datman and a date with mr Alramone lol

But there is one thing on my mind and hope this topic don't go into a a banter but we all banter well and join in on threads but at shows for example RR there's not much bonding. I'm not sure If you know what I mean my first meet when joining Datsun forum was RR and I felt welcomed and everyone was making an effort and getting on well. The last RR I personally felt a strange vibe. The members I did no obviously I talked to but others were like just looking at me and being reserved. You could see some talking about me or my cars but never bother coming over. I made effort looking at everyone's cars and so on but what an atmosphere. Maybe it was my shirt saying 'Japcrap' lol
